SportMetrix is designed with a clear philosophy: your data is yours and nobody else's. The app works locally on your device and does not require registration or an account to function.
All information generated by SportMetrix is stored exclusively on your device:
None of this data is sent to external servers unless you expressly choose to through one of the integrations described below.
SportMetrix does not collect, store or transmit:
SportMetrix allows you to voluntarily connect your account with external platforms. These integrations are always optional and initiated by you.
If you choose to connect your Strava account, SportMetrix uses the official Strava API with OAuth 2.0 authentication. This means:

If you choose to connect your misrutas.net account, authorization happens through the portal's official sign-in. This means:
If you attach photos when uploading a route, only the ones you pick (up to three) are sent: they are resized and their metadata (including location) is removed before upload.
If you choose to connect your Garmin account, sign-in happens on Garmin's own official page inside the app (two-step verification supported). This means:
When you activate the live position sharing feature, your real-time GPS coordinates are sent to a temporary server so people with the link can follow your route live. This data is not stored permanently and is deleted when the session ends.
If you choose to share one of your routes with a 6-digit ID, its GPX file (GPS track, elevation and sensor data) and its name are uploaded to the same temporary server so that whoever has the ID can import the route into SportMetrix or open it on design.misrutas.net. The route is only reachable by knowing the ID: it is never published, listed or indexed anywhere. It is deleted automatically once the period you chose expires (between 1 and 30 days), or immediately if you stop sharing it from the app.
To correct GPS altitude inaccuracies, SportMetrix sends your route coordinates to an altimetry service based on Copernicus DEM data. No personal data is sent, only geographic coordinates.
SportMetrix only requests strictly necessary permissions:
Camera access is optional and only used if you take photos on your routes. We never request access to microphone, contacts, calendar or other unrelated permissions.
SportMetrix requests the background location permission (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION) so it can keep recording your GPS track when the app is minimized or the screen is off. Without this permission, tracks would stop being recorded as soon as the screen turns off, which would make the app unusable for real training sessions.

Before requesting this permission, SportMetrix shows an in-app disclosure dialog explaining this use. You can continue with the request or refuse it, and you can revoke the permission at any time from Android settings → Apps → SportMetrix → Permissions → Location.

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you exercise these rights directly from within the app. For data shared with Strava, Garmin or MisRutas.net, you should also manage your rights directly with those platforms.
SportMetrix does not transfer your data to third countries except in the following cases:

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy — especially changes affecting how your data is shared or used — we will notify you through the app. Minor updates will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
